There is great joy in creativity and many ways children can share their inner visions with us. The Reggio Emilia Approach speaks of the 100 languages of children and encourages us to listen to the multitude of ways that children express themselves. From imaginative play, to painting, drawing, singing, dancing, creating new ideas with collage materials, building imaginary castles with bricks, the list goes on and on.
Being creative has many benefits. Not only can it help children express themselves and their ideas but there are often physical and mental benefits too. From learning to problem solve to simply being able to use creativity as a form of meditation when things feel overwhelming.
