There are lots of exciting things planned for the Childminding Best Practice Club in 2025. In September the Club will reach an important milestone with the publication of the 100th edition of the club toolkits and so there will be a special edition to celebrate. There is also lots to look forward to in the other toolkits with themes covering all areas of learning and a fantastic programme of CPD modules.
If you are already a member of the Childminding Best Practice Club you will see some minor changes to the ‘My Curriculum‘ section included in each toolkit. This year, as well as the traditional topics helping you enhance your provision, I am introducing some ‘continuous provision’ themes with lots of ideas to help you make the most of the resources and opportunities you have available every day.
If you would like to know more about the different between continual provision and enhanced provision I recommend starting with these blogs:
The toolkits still contain sequenced planning around each topic or theme. The planning is broken down into stages with information about the intent, implementation and impact (plan, do, review) of each one. This will help you deliver the ideas to children at the right level for them as well as increasing your understanding of what they already know and their next steps. There are also lots of new activity ideas and resources to help you develop and deliver your childminding early years curriculum with ease.
The ‘My Learning,’ section in each toolkit is where you will find the useful Continual Professional Development Modules. Each toolkit contains a self-evaluation question along with a related training module to help you develop your own practice or gain useful business skills and tips.
The toolkits also still contain other things like the ‘Under Two’s Planning pages’ A Diversity or British Values activity and monthly planning to help you cover any areas of learning not covered sensibly by the monthly theme.
The following will give you a good idea of what will be covered in each toolkit so that, if you wish, you can use this information to help you plan for 2025.
(Please be aware that some themes or content may be subject to change, especially in toolkits published later in the year.)
